Thought Piece
First and foremost, the “Keep It In The Ground” has only one “accomplishment,” which is keeping over $91 billion of energy infrastructure from being built or replaced (with both new and upgraded technology). A visible example of this do-nothing approach can be found north of Boston, with the explosion of old gas pipelines.
My major complaint against the environment extremists has always been that they use misinformation and extra-legal (at best) bullying tactics, not unlike former EPA senior management, several NGO’s, many university professors, partisan politicians, and some well-meaning but under-informed activists.
Actually, I have several complaints with the entire group mentioned above: They have been ruthlessly political, overly arrogant, imperially ambitious, utterly shameless, funding biased, morally superior, and essentially lawless. Ultimately, they are anti-economic development.
After 10’s and 10’s of billions of dollars spent on environmental activism, their only accomplishment is doing nothing.
