The Annual NARUC (National Associated of Utility Regulatory Commissions) Conference is being held Baltimore this week. As the state Utility commissions prepared for the future, at least the threat of the EPA taking over the US grid and waterways has ended.

Frankly, a state utility commissioner has been a hard enough of job attending to the state politics, economic development, and their state’s environment, but the uncertainty of the EPA’s Clean Power Plan and Waters of the US has been disruptive and fraught with uncertainly for all state agencies.

There is a palpable renewed sense of purpose at the Conference. Our energy future will continue to be nurtured by all of NARUC , with a proper balance of politics, economic development and environment. Steve
